Wow, it’s already May and so much has happened! I celebrated my First year Anniversary of opening my business in February with a big Event on my Facebook Page! It was very successful and fun and has definitely led me to exactly where I am today!
So, today I made the brave decision I’ve been thinking about for a few months and changed my business name from Fairytale Pillows by Amy to Fairytale Keepsakes by Amy! This change was prompted by all the custom orders I have been receiving! I have expanded my talents from just Toothfairy Pillows to hair accessories, ring bearer pillows, mason jar pin cushions, Toothfairy add-on kits and more! I needed to change the name to show that my work is just more than pillows! I love challenges and custom orders! I’ll try anything! I couldn’t be happier today, only 15 months after creating my business! I feel that I’ve accomplished way more than I had ever imagined! Changing your business name is hard! I really brainstormed for months. I didn’t want to lose the Fairytale, as my creations are based off of Fairytales! A word that kept popping into my head was keepsake. After doing a little research I came to the decision to replace Pillows with Keepsakes! Here’s the reason why: A keepsake is defined as a small gift that represents love, friendship, memories, places, people, occasions amongst many other things. When I first created Fairytale Pillows by Amy, I was only making and selling Toothfairy Pillows. Throughout my first year I was surprised with several different custom orders which have all been added to my inventory! I wanted to make the new name similar as I believe in the magic of Fairytales and want to keep that alive! Thank you all for you never ending support! I’m so happy that I get to do what I love! 🧚🏻♀️ *Stay tuned for a NEW INVENTORY item coming soon*

Happy New Years to you all! Thank you so much for being so awesome and supporting me, as I almost hit my one year mark this February! I do have a little news to share before the ball drops! This won’t be a long post!
I have been asked by my dear friend and fellow Entrepreneur Jessica to be a guest contributor to her blog What’s happening with Jessica! I am beyond happy to accept and have already written a few entries! Please stop by to check out the entire blog at http://www.whatshappeningwithjessica.wordpress.com/and make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of my blogs! Happy New Years to you all, may it be more than you’ve asked for. 🧚🏻♀️ It’s been awhile since I’ve had a moment to sit and collect my thoughts! I am sitting in my kitchen on this beautiful fall evening. The trees have started to change colors and are slowly collecting on the ground. The rain has just started to come down, sprinkling for now. And the sun has said goodnight. I just made a hot cup of my favorite coffee and thought I’d take a moment to gather my thoughts. I’m thinking back to this past February when I decided to take the leap and open up a Facebook page to sell Toothfairy pillows that I handmake. It’s only been 9 months! I had made one for my daughter and her friends for Christmas and was basically talked into opening a small business to sell my pillows. After a month of thinking about it I decided to go for it! My Facebook page Fairytale Pillows by Amy started with a bang! Mostly orders from friends and family at first. As my pillows were shared on Facebook along with my page to my surprise my business started growing and I’ve surpassed selling pillows in just New England! One of my goals is to have a pillow in every state and I’m keeping a running list. As my skills and confidence slowly grew I started accepting custom orders and have made a ring bearer pillow, a garter for a Bride, throw pillows, mason jar pin cushions and flower hair clips. I absolutely love a challenge and I welcome custom orders! This past July I decided I was ready to make my own website! The entire process was fun and I love rearranging it and making it better as I learn. My website has also had amazing success! I’ve been extremely overwhelmed. I also made business cards and have just run out today! 500 cards! I wear my heart on my sleeve and also put it into everything I make! Nothing gets sent out without an approval of love from the customer ❤️ Thank you all for supporting me and sharing my website and Facebook page! It has helped me immensely and thank you to everyone who has placed an order! I love knowing a piece of my heart is out there! I also love when customers post pictures of their pillows when they receive them! It always makes my day! Whats next? Well, with the holidays coming up I’m planning on renting a table at a few Holiday Fairs to sell my pillows and I’ve also been making a lot of flower hair clips to sell also! I’ve been keeping busy getting the pillows and everything else ready! It’s going to be a fun fall! If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I believe that is all for now! Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog and for your support! I wouldn’t be here without any of you! I will close by saying that I am very thankful to have found my passion and my dreams and goals grow every day. I’m happy you’re all here with me on my journey. Here is a little sneak peak of the flower clips I’ve been working on. It's been awhile since I've written! Life has been insane! But a good insane! Business is doing well as is the response from my new webpage! That makes my heart smile. I really put a lot of time and love into everything I make! I've been busy getting ready for a family wedding at the end of the month in North Carolina. I will be driving my daughter and mother in law down there. My daughter is going to be the flower girl and I made their ring bearer pillow, her wedding garter, my daughters wreath for her hair, flower clips for our dresses and will be down there early to help with last minute odds and ends! It will be a beautiful fall wedding in a Castle!
Besides that, I've received a few orders that I'm currently working on which equals 9 Toothfairy Pillows!! I'm happy to announce that through the powers of YouTube Ive almost mastered my scary sewing machine! I've broke needles, ran out of thread, almost sewed my finger and got a piece of fabric and thread stuck extremely hard in the machine! It's been fun! Now I'm ready to get some work done! Last week I cut out 30 pillows and the next day sewed them up and stuffed them! That would have taken me weeks by hand! 2 days! Now I have plans on renting tables at fall fairs as I continue to grow my inventory! I'm also elated at everything that has been going on in a Facebook group I belong to called Entrepreneur Connections! I was their featured webpage last month, was asked to do an event online on 9/25/17, I won a blog contest (by lottery) and lastly was asked to be an Admin on their page for my enthusiasm and participation! It's been a very good month! My heart is full, I'm doing what I love and just the feedback alone is enough to keep me going! Thank you to everyone who has continued supporting me at the very beginning of what I think will become something very big! ❤️ Happy Birthday to me! I am beyond excited at this amazing gift my father gave me for my birthday! I handsew everything, which takes a lot of time! With my new friend here my business just took a huge turn in direction! My production will be quicker and improved! I have been running a promotion for ideas, something that you've wanted but they don't make, or make it the way you want! Well, I received a special order from someone very close to me for a Harry Potter themed ring bearer pillow and a Star Wars garter! I accepted the challenge and sent the bride a picture of the almost finished pillow last night to make sure she loved it before I sewed it all together and her response literally made me cry. She wrote "Your such a talented artist!" I've never thought of myself as an artist, but I guess I am and that compliment means more to me than she'll ever know. It gave me the push I needed to really do this to the fullest of my ability! I will be expanding my inventory which will prompt a name change. I may need your help with that. For sure, ring bearer pillows are definitely going to be added to my inventory but the rest is a secret for now! Here's a little sneak peak at the ring bearer pillow. The bride picked everything out, and designed it with me along the way, even though she lives in North Carolina!
I can't say how happy I am right now. I have a notebook with me at all times because the ideas just keep coming. As a side note I found out that I can sketch this year, and prettty well! I may be making a site for my drawings as well! Please keep checking in! I appreciate all of your support! To share some good news I received 2 different orders yesterday for a total of 7 Toothfairy pillows! These orders are coming from Oklahoma and South Carolina! I'm thrilled to know my work is making it past New England! Thank you for reading this and your support! Have a great weekend! Hello and thank you for visiting my page. Feel free to share with your friends! I've been a stay at home mom for about 3 years now to my 7 year old daughter. I worked in the Medical field for 15 years until I had my own health issues. I've always loved to sew and draw and I decided to make a few tooth fairy pillows for my daughter and her friends for Christmas. After that, and to my complete surprise I started receiving orders and I hadn't even thought of making them to sell. In February 2017 I decided to give it a shot and opened up a Facebook page. I was shocked by the response and orders I was receiving. Initially I had just started with the tooth fairy pillows until I received 3 different requests for throw pillows! I've found my passion and I hope to go far! I put so much time and effort into each pillow and send you pictures and questions along the way so you are included in the entire process. You can also tell me the colors you want and I could design one for you! I'm just thrilled that my little business that started out of 2 crate boxs has turned into all this! I will never stop learning and reaching for my goals! Thank you all for reading this and visiting my page! ❤️
